Middle East & Africa Media Visit GAC, Witness the Global Strength of Chinese Smart Manufacturing
Recently, the Auto China 2026 grandly kicked off, marking a brand-new upgrade of GAC Group’s global strategy. Taking advantage of the global auto industry's focus on China, GAC Middle East and Africa media launched a China Experience Tour. A total of 21 mainstream media and industry KOLs from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, South Africa, Ethiopia and other countries traveled across Guangzhou and Beijing, immersing themselves in GAC’s full-chain intelligent manufacturing, experiencing global models firsthand, and discussing GAC’s globalized blueprint for deepening its presence in the Middle East and Africa markets.

The media delegation first visited GAC’s core industrial base in Guangzhou, touring GAC Toyota Factory, GAC Technology Museum, GAC AION Factory and GAC Group Headquarters. From quality, technology to intelligent manufacturing, they explored the core competitiveness of “Tech GAC” in an all-round way.
Journey to Quality Origins: At GAC Toyota Factory, the delegation visited the 5th production line and experienced the lean production, full-process quality control and global unified manufacturing standards accumulated from over 20 years of in-depth cooperation between GAC and Toyota. From parts assembly to vehicle completion, from process precision to strict quality control, the media witnessed GAC’s international and high-standard manufacturing system, strengthening the brand perception of “GAC’s Toyota DNA, Building High-Quality GAC”.
Navigating with Technology: Later, the delegation visited GAC Technology Museum, experiencing cutting-edge achievements including unmanned aerial vehicles, core battery technologies, high-efficiency electric motors and drives, advanced intelligent driving, smart cockpits and future mobility ecosystems. Through immersive technology displays, GAC clearly conveyed to the Middle East and Africa media that GAC is not only a traditional automaker, but also a technology-driven enterprise with a full-chain layout in core new energy technologies, intelligent technologies and future mobility, fully shaping the distinctive label of “Tech GAC, New Energy Tech GAC”.
Intelligent Manufacturing Excellence: Next, the delegation went deep into GAC AION Factory, witnessing the full-link automated production process of new energy vehicles from R&D and intelligent manufacturing to mass production. They saw GAC’s hardcore strength in intelligent vehicle manufacturing, high-end process control and large-scale production and delivery. With the modern intelligent manufacturing capabilities of GAC AION Factory, GAC fully demonstrated its solid industrial foundation, strong intelligent manufacturing system and mature new energy vehicle commercialization capacity, highlighting the global image of “Manufacturing Powerhouse GAC”.
02: First-hand Experience: Test-riding Core Models Winning Over Middle East & Africa
On April 23, the media delegation visited GAC R&D Center for an exclusive test-ride and test-drive experience, deeply evaluating GAC’s flagship models including GAC GS7 PHEV, AION i60 and Smilodon Pro. As a key model GAC will introduce to the Middle East and Africa markets in 2026, the GS7 test-drive has built momentum in advance for its official launch in the region.
On-site, dual test experiences were set up: comprehensive road conditions and a performance track. The media delegation personally experienced the vehicle’s chassis vibration filtering, power response and handling stability, directly verifying GAC’s product adaptability to diverse travel scenarios in the Middle East and Africa.
After the test-drive, Wang Feng, Vice President of GAC International & President of Middle East & Africa Regional Center, Chen Jianzhou, Global R&D Director of GS7, and other executives held in-depth group interviews with the media delegation. They engaged in discussions on product planning, technology implementation, regional strategy, localization adaptation and other topics, conveying GAC’s firm determination to deeply cultivate the Middle East and Africa markets for the long term.
03: Aligning Globally: Joining Auto China 2026, Opening a New Strategic Chapter
On April 24, the media delegation arrived at GAC’s booth at Auto China 2026, witnessing the important press conferences of GAC Group and GAC International. The conference announced the upgrade of GAC’s systematic globalization strategy, aiming to become a leading player in China’s auto exports by 2030, and deepening global layout through three pathways: In Local, For Local; Technology-driven; Ecosystem Co-construction.
Meanwhile, the delegation participated in an exclusive group interview for Middle East and Africa media. Masato Katsumata, CTO of GAC International, and Wang Feng, Vice President of GAC International and President of Middle East & Africa Regional Center, responded to questions on site. They had in-depth exchanges on core topics such as differentiated layout in the Middle East and Africa markets, balancing new energy and fuel products, and building localized supply chains, further clarifying GAC’s strategic priority and long-term investment in the region.
