Chery South Africa has handed over a brand-new Tiggo 4 Pro LiT to Mamelodi Sundowns supporter Mbulaheni Simethi, who was named the winner of the  Mamelodi Sundowns supporter competition at the home game at Lucas Moripe Stadiu on 9 May.

The competition forms part of the brand’s partnership with Mamelodi Sundowns, with Chery serving as the club’s Official Vehicle Partner.

Simethi, a regular Mamelodi Sundowns supporter, said winning the Tiggo 4 Pro would make a meaningful difference in his life. “I really don’t know how to put it,” said Simethi. “Allow me first to thank God, Chery South Africa, the Mamelodi Sundowns family, the chairman, the supporters and my family, who are always with me when I go to the stadium.”

Asked what the vehicle means to him, Simethi said it would allow him to attend matches with ease. “Winning this vehicle means a lot to me,” he said. “I will no longer face the challenge of getting to the stadium.”

The Sundowns fan said his first trip in the vehicle will be to church, while the first people he plans to take for a drive are his parents and family. If given the opportunity to take a Mamelodi Sundowns player for a drive, he said he would choose Teboho “Tebza” Mokoena.

“The way he plays in that position makes me feel comfortable when he is in the starting eleven,” said Simethi. “I know anything can happen. He can score or assist.”

“Chery’s partnership with Mamelodi Sundowns is about supporting one of South Africa’s most successful football clubs while connecting with the supporters who make matchdays what they are,” said Jay Jay Botes, General Manager at Chery South Africa. “We congratulate Mbulaheni on winning the Tiggo 4 Pro LiT and hope the vehicle serves him and his family well.”

As the Official Vehicle Partner of Mamelodi Sundowns, Chery South Africa provides the club with a fleet of SUVs for matches, club engagements and community events. The partnership brings together two brands with a shared focus on performance, ambition and community.

The Tiggo 4 Pro LiT is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that develops 83 kW and 138 N.m of torque, sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. With a claimed fuel consumption figure of 7.0L/100 km, the model balances efficiency with everyday practicality. It is equipped with dual airbags, air conditioning, keyless entry, an infotainment touchscreen system and rear parking sensors, and is backed by a five-year/150,000 km warranty.

The competition invited Mamelodi Sundowns supporters attending home games to enter by purchasing a valid match ticket, holding a valid Mamelodi Sundowns membership number, writing their name, surname, membership number and contact number on the back of their ticket, and placing it in the official Chery Competition Box at the stadium gates.
