Ulterio Motiv, the company known for six-wheel conversions, has unveiled its most exciting product yet for 2026. After unveiling its Ford Ranger 6x4 and Toyota Land Cruiser 79 6x6, a third model has been added to its all-conquering six-wheel offerings.
THE PRODUCT – MEET THE JEEP GLADIATOR MAXIMUS 6X6
More capability, more practicality and more presence. These are the attributes that define the new Ulterio Motiv built Jeep Gladiator Maximus 6x6. By adding a third axle to Jeep’s already highly capable Gladiator platform, Ulterio Motiv has created a unique 6x6 chassis aimed at customers who require substantially greater load carrying ability without sacrificing the vehicle’s inherent off-road capability.
The aim of the product is to provide customers with a highly capable chassis and a blank canvas from which to create a vehicle tailored to their individual requirements. Whether it is intended for overlanding and camping, specialist applications or serious off-roading, the Gladiator Maximus 6x6 provides the foundation for a wide variety of bespoke builds.
Customers can specify components according to their own requirements, including suspension, wheels, tyres, bull bars and other equipment. Once the conversion is complete, the rear of the vehicle can be configured to suit its intended application, with a substantially larger loading bin providing additional space and practicality compared with the standard Gladiator.
THE NUMBERS
The Jeep Gladiator is already renowned for its combination of off-road ability, open air versatility and load carrying capability. Ulterio Motiv takes these attributes considerably further with the Gladiator Maximus 6x6, adding a third axle to create a vehicle with significantly greater load carrying capacity and an imposing presence.
The conversion increases the vehicle’s GVM (gross vehicle mass) capacity to 3,490 kg, representing an increase of 690 kg over the standard vehicle. Loading capacity is increased to 1,090 kg, while the larger rear loading bin provides 1,040 mm additional length for a total of 2,530 mm. The width and depth of the loading bin is unchanged.
CONVERSION AND BENEFITS
The extend of the modifications to the driveline includes the extension of the chassis with a new rear frame that is engineered to fit standard Jeep suspension and accessories. The original, standard rear axle is moved to the rear most (third axle) position and replaced with a re-engineered centre axle with a drive-through capability and selectable rear-axle engagement.
A large amount of engineering effort was spent on ensuring that standard Jeep parts can be directly integrated into the driveline for customer customization. Aftermarket Jeep parts can also be directly bolt on and includes lift kits, big brake kits, larger wheels and suspension components.
The load box was extended by Ulterio Motiv using CAD designed custom panels incorporated into the standard load box. This ensures fitment of standard load box customization components, although extension will also be required. The result is a perfect road-legal engineered solution ready for customization to customer taste and requirements.
The third axle also brings another important advantage to the Gladiator Maximus: increased load distribution. Rather than concentrating the vehicle’s load over two axles, the 6x6 configuration distributes the additional weight across three axles, providing a more suitable platform for customers carrying heavy equipment or fitting substantial specialist bodies and accessories.
This six-wheel drive platform that combines the character and capability of the Gladiator with substantially greater load carrying potential, additional rear cargo space and the versatility required to create a truly bespoke vehicle.
Owing to the homologated GVM of the 6x6 at 3,490 kg, only a standard driver’s license is required to drive the Maximus 6x6 on public roads
