In a first for Jetour South Africa, Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty has added Jetour T2 Odyssey models to its rental fleet, with a more vehicles set to be delivered in the coming weeks.

While the first T2 models have already been introduced into the rental fleet, the official handover was held this week at Jetour South Africa's head office in Midrand. Since becoming available, the fleet has been fully booked, reflecting strong customer demand and the vehicle's growing popularity.

"This is Jetour South Africa's first direct rental fleet customer, making it a significant milestone for our business. Rental car companies are highly selective about the brands and models they introduce into their fleets. They need vehicles that have proven reliability, strong resale value and the ability to perform under the demands of daily rental use,” says Lazola Qungwana, Head of Sales at Jetour South Africa. “Being chosen by a company like Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty is a vote of confidence not only in the Jetour T2, but in the Jetour brand as a whole”.

This year has seen Jetour retain its 8th-place position in South Africa's new vehicle sales rankings for several consecutive months. Having launched in South Africa in September 2024, Jetour had already broken into the country's top 15 passenger vehicle brands by July the following year. Driving sales demand has been the launch of the T-Series last October, while the T2's victory at the 2026 South African Car of the Year awards in May further cemented Jetour's growing reputation and popularity locally.

For rental customers and owners alike, the Jetour T2 Odyssey offers a compelling blend of comfort, capability and technology. Its spacious interior, generous luggage capacity and advanced driver assistance features make it well suited to both city streets and holiday adventures. Further enhancing the driving experience are the T2 Odyssey's premium features such as heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a premium Sony sound system, wireless smartphone connectivity and charging, a 540° panoramic view camera, and a large, intuitive infotainment display.

“Our growth to date has been driven primarily by individual retail customers. Our entry into the fleet market provides valuable additional brand exposure. We look forward to Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty customers experiencing all that Jetour has to offer for themselves,” Qungwana says.

He adds that the brand is also pursuing opportunities within government fleets and the fleet management and leasing sector.

“Our hope is that our partnership with Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty will be the first of many, as we continue building Jetour into a brand that is trusted not only by everyday consumers, but by large-scale fleet operators who put our vehicles to the test every single day”.

The Jetour T2 is available to book in Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty's Group E3 – IFAR category, which offers vehicles with seating for five passengers, 4x4 capability, automatic transmission, air conditioning, ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, power steering and electric windows.

Hertz Southern Africa Dollar & Thrifty South Africa is one of the country's longest-established car rental brands, having operated in South Africa since the 1950s. The company offers a comprehensive range of short- and long-term mobility solutions for business and leisure customers through a nationwide network of more than 40 rental locations at major airports and in key cities. Its fleet includes passenger vehicles, SUVs, bakkies and premium models, with a focus on quality service, convenience and reliability.
