From exploring distant horizons to enjoying the journey itself, expectations for travel are evolving. In South Africa, this is reflected in the growing popularity of 4x4 vehicles, as consumers look for vehicle versatility to navigate everyday life while embracing weekend adventures and exploration.
Vehicles are no longer simply a means of reaching a destination, they have become travel companions that bring people closer to nature and new experiences, while serving as a “mobile third space.”
In response to users’ diverse travel needs, global SUV brand Jetour continues to advance its ‘Travel+’ strategy, integrating technological innovation, product development, and ecosystem building into real travel scenarios. From October 20 to 23, the 2026 Jetour Global Technology Experience Day, themed "Future Travel Starts Now," will take place across Wuhu, Anhui Province and Moganshan, Zhejiang Province in China, featuring technology experiences, on-road driving, outdoor living, and ecological conservation activities to present Jetour's understanding and vision for the future of travel.
Technological Innovation: Expanding the Possibilities of Travel
Technology is the core engine driving the future of travel. Leveraging the brand's technological expertise in artificial intelligence, intelligent driving, smart cabins, and AiMOGA Robotics, Jetour transforms cutting-edge technology into mobility experiences users can genuinely feel.
The XWD Fully Automatic Intelligent 4WD system, available in the T1 and T2 Odyssey and Xplora models available in South Africa, and the 7+X one-touch intelligent modes, helps vehicles take on challenging conditions such as mountain roads, gravel, water crossings, and steep slopes. The GAIA All-Terrain Intelligent Architecture, available in models to be launched in South Africa in 2027, provides the technical foundation for adapting to diverse terrain and travel scenarios.
On October 21, models equipped with these technologies will take part in mountain-road test drives and travel off-road experiences at Moganshan. This area is renowned for its lush bamboo forests, rolling green mountains, winding mountain roads, waterfalls and picturesque landscapes, allowing participants to experience how Jetour technology performs across varied terrain and driving conditions.
A Diverse Product Lineup: Enriching the Travel Experience
Travel is evolving beyond destination-focused exploration toward more diverse ways to experience life on the road. Jetour's product lineup is built precisely to answer these varied needs: the G700, with its much-anticipated launch in South Africa planned for 2027, combines premium comfort with hardcore off-road capability, while The T1 and T2, which continue to attract significant consumer demand locally, cater to both urban driving and light off-road adventures. Travel ecosystem equipment such as roof tents, onboard refrigerators, and panoramic sunroofs extends the vehicle from a means of transport into an all-round companion for resting, unwinding, and exploring.
During the upcoming Technology Experience Day, Jetour will host a camping market and a Starry Night Forum, bringing product features into real-world travel settings and demonstrating how exploration, relaxation and social interaction can come together on the road.
Ecosystem: Extending the Value of Travel
Travel is not only about exploring the world; it is also about understanding diverse cultures and protecting the natural environment. During the event, participants will visit Xiazhu Lake in Zhejiang Province to take part in a crested ibis conservation initiative, gaining a first-hand understanding of ecological conservation through hands-on activities such as weaving nests and releasing fish.
Globally, Jetour continues to support conservation efforts: from cheetah conservation in Africa and turtle conservation in Malaysia to harpy eagle conservation in Panama and the protection of the markhor, Pakistan's national animal, extending its conservation footprint to more regions around the world.
At the same time, Jetour has partnered with organisations including Chile's Colo-Colo, FIBA, and the Malaysia Marathon, continuing to broaden its engagement with local culture, sport, and user communities. From natural conservation to cultural exchange, travel becomes a bridge connecting people with nature, and cultures with communities - giving ‘Travel+’ an even richer meaning.
Future travel is not only about reaching more distant destinations, but also about continually expanding the possibilities of mobility and travel lifestyles. From October 20 to 23, Jetour will join travelers from around the world on a journey across city, mountain, and wetland, exploring more possibilities through the deeper integration of technology and travel.
