07 AUGUST 2026, JOHANNESBURG: Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA) is launching the 150kW Legacy Fund, a new pillar of the brand's community commitment built on a simple idea: everyone deserves the power to find their next. Through the fund, MMSA aims to identify deserving charities, communities and individuals who need "150kW" of power to change their future.
It is the first initiative of its kind for MMSA, drawing inspiration from one of Mitsubishi Motors most iconic symbols of capability and the belief that real power is measured by the impact it has on others.
MMSA intends to make this an annual commitment, growing the number of causes supported year on year. To help find them, the brand has turned to its Friends of the Mitsu Family to spread the word about the fund.
Ox Nché, Trevor Nyakane and Khuli Chana join the search
Ox Nché, who joined the Mitsubishi family in 2023 and has since become one of the brand's longest-serving partners, will help identify the fund's first beneficiaries. Trevor Nyakane, Ox’s teammate, who later joined the Mitsubishi family after seeing what the brand had done for Ox, is also lending his support to the campaign.
Additionally, the 150kW Legacy Fund will be officially launched at a special viewing session timed to coincide with Khuli Chana's docu-series that finds and celebrates South Africans who have reinvented themselves, and motivates others to do the same, a fitting backdrop for a fund built around the idea that 150kW is the moment you step into your next.
At Mitsubishi Motors, we believe that power means nothing if it isn't shared. Through our Friends of Mitsu family, including Ox Nche, Trevor Nyakane and Khuli Chana, we've seen firsthand the difference that giving back to the communities that shaped them can make. We're proud to have them join us on this journey as we identify and empower initiatives that deserve a little extra support," says Lerato Nonyane, General Manager: Product & Marketing at MMSA.
Full details of the Mitsubishi Motors 150kW Legacy Fund, including how the nomination process will work, will be announced at the launch event in the coming weeks.
