GENEVA MOTOR SHOW 2016 : A WIND OF FRESHNESS AND ENERGY IS BLOWING AROUND THE CITROËN STAND!

At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Citroën enters a new phase with its range-wide roll-out of the strategy presenting new product features, concepts and partnerships which all share a common theme: energy and freshness. The Brand also pursues the development of new services to make life of its customers easier. A new dynamic is taking centre stage, offering a different automotive experience and overturning conventional wisdom. This new direction can be clearly felt at the Citroën stand, and will build to a crescendo in 2016.

01. THE NEW PRODUCTS

At Geneva, Citroën is demonstrating energetic and fresh cars which promote well-being, whatever the segment! Citroën is also presenting partnerships which echo the creativity and the boldness of the brand.

Citroën SpaceTourer as World Première and its Concept

- A modern, character-filled van which combines friendliness with versatility, the Citroën SpaceTourer meets the needs of today's "tribes" and professionals alike.

- Alongside a high-colour, revved-up concept: the Citroën SpaceTourer Hyphen concept created from the partnership between the Brand and the young french pop-rock group Hyphen Hyphen. As its name suggests, it creates a link between families and tribes, MPVs and SUVs, cities and wide open spaces. Evocative of open space and adventure, this fresh, colourful, rough-and-ready 4x4 takes the spirit of well-being and leisure of the mainstream model a step further. Press representatives are invited to the stand on 1 March at 9:30am for a live musical show during the press conference

New Citroën E-MEHARI et its associated Concept

- Citroën E-MEHARI : cheeky nod to an icon of the brand, but it's so much more: a 100% electric 4-seat convertible with a modern, fun design.

- Alongside this new model a new and unique concept born of Citroën's partnership with a French fashion house will be revealed. A luminous concept which will be unveiled a few days before the show.

Citroën C4 Cactus : 2 new animations

- New development 100% outdoor produced in partnership with the well-known surfing brand, the special-edition Citroën C4 Cactus Rip Curl introduces the Grip Control system for optimum traction, and character-enhancing style elements;

- Revealed in a monochrome white colour scheme, the Citroën C4 Cactus "W" offers a new "urban iconic" look and opts for elegance.

02. THE RANGE : CONFORTABLE AND EFFICIENT

Citroën exposes recent models or recently modernized which offer Design, Comfort and useful Technology as C4 Picasso, C1, C4 or Berlingo. Common denominator of the range and the real know-how of Citroën: the comfort. A global and homogeneous comfort for the well-being of the body and the spirit, to answer a new way of living the automotive. An experience of different driving supported by efficient motorizations as petrol engines 3 cylinders PureTech (whose Turbo version was elected " Engine of The Year on 2015) and the Diesel engines BlueHDi of which the SCR technology is recognized as the most successful to handle Nox and protect the level of emissions.

03. A CALMLY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Modern and technological, the Citroën brand never stops innovating. It offers a range of new services and new spaces to complement drivers' new lifestyles and consumption habits.

On board Citroën vehicles

- Citroën Connect Nav : introduced exclusively to the Citroën SpaceTourer, this new generation of 3D navigation, combined with connected services and operated by voice control, lets drivers control the Navigation, Telephone and Media functions without ever taking their eyes off the road;

- Citroën Connect Packs : the three Packs (Monitoring Pack, Mapping Pack and Tracking Pack) are new additions to the Citroën Connect Box range with SOS & Assistance Pack ("Localized Emergency Call" and "Localized Assistance Call" functions).

Digital

- Citroën Advisor : an interactive online advice site about Citroën outlets where Citroën customers are free to share their opinions and experiences about the quality of service offered at the dealership. A Première in the automotive market

- Citroën Carstore : the site where customers can make instant comparisons of all new cars available in stock in the Citroën network; you can also reserve the model of your choice directly online, with a single click, from the comfort of your own home. A first step to the e-commerce.

A different experience resolutely turned toward the well-being which also lives through the stand of Geneva. Bright and warm, it will inaugurate new spaces as the "Le Petit Citroën" or the “La Maison Citroën”. A full of energy booth just like the commitment of the brand in WTCC. In 2016, Citroën aims at the third consecutive title with C-Elysée WTCC which reveals in Geneva its new colors.

World Première: the Citroën SpaceTourer!

« UNLIMITED LIFE » : The SpaceTourer - the perfect companion to the unlimited and intense lifestyle - will be revealed in a world première at the Geneva Motor Show.

A pioneer in MPVs and leisure activity vehicles, Citroën is an expert in developing versatile, spacious vehicles that make life feel good. With the SpaceTourer, Citroën expands its range and demonstrates its ability to move up-market in the van segment. Optimistic, practical and user-friendly in everyday use, the SpaceTourer makes life easier and opens up new possibilities. It provides the perfect response to a world in motion, a world of change, and one in which we increasingly spend our leisure and travel time together.

Modern and full of character, the Citroën SpaceTourer, with its 3 different shapes and various interior layout options, brings a new response to the needs of "tribes" of family or friends, but also professionals. Born to roam and in step with its times, the new van combines comfort, practicality and good looks, with no compromises. With its new platform, the SpaceTourer provides dynamic handling and remarkable efficiency with "Best in Class" fuel consumption. The technology on board the new model prioritises safety and makes everyday life easier.

Available in 3 lengths, including a market-first 4.60m model for up to 9 people*, it's the ideal everyday companion, in town and country alike. Car park access is easy, with a height of just 1.90 m. Practical features include hands-free sliding rear doors, an opening rear window and plenty of storage options;

- comfort for improved physical and mental well-being, with a welcoming interior, a high-set driving position, sliding and rotating seats for more practicality, and a glass roof. Well-being is enhanced through top-flight acoustic treatment and optimal ride comfort;

- technologies to make life easier, including head-up vision and a 3D connected navigation system with Citroën Connect Nav, along with safety technologies such as: Coffee Break Alert, which suggests taking a break after two hours of uninterrupted driving, Driver Attention Alert, for detecting lapses in driver concentration, and Collision Risk Alert. Equipped with these technologies and features, the SpaceTourer scored the maximum 5-star rating in EuroNCAP tests;

- latest-generation diesel powertrains from the BlueHDi family delivering up to 180 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, for the lowest fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in the segment (BlueHDi 115 S&S 6-speed manual: 5.1 l/100 km and 133 g/km of CO2) and efficient running costs.

Concept-car : the Citroën SpaceTourer HYPHEN !

To accompany its launch, the Citroën SpaceTourer is being made available as a unique concept car with a fresh, colourful, rough and ready look which will be unveiled on 1 March at 9:30am, live from the Citroën stand, accompanied by the famous pop-rock group Hyphen Hyphen. The choice of the name Hyphen emphasises the link between families and tribes, MPVs and SUVs, the city and the great outdoors. Climb in, and anything's possible. There's room for every tribe and clan to enjoy unlimited adventure. It's therefore no surprise that Citroën reached out to the band Hyphen Hyphen to help publicise this new concept. A young, energetic group from Nice, nominated for the 2016 Victoires de la Musique awards, they're well on the way to becoming legends of the electro pop scene.

Arnaud Belloni, Head of Marketing and Communication for Citroën, says: "Citroën has always been about innovation, staying ahead of its time and unearthing new talent. Meeting Hyphen Hyphen and setting up a partnership immediately looked an obvious step to us. What we found was a manic, quirky group, with a genuinely distinctive visual and musical character. The Citroën SpaceTourer Hyphen Concept is:

- a powered-up design, yet protective and caring, turning up the volume with its hyper-colourful, rough-and-ready appearance expressing freedom and functionality. The Citroën SpaceTourer Hyphen picks up standard SUV design cues with wide bumpers, wheel arch trims and sill panel protectors inspired by the Aircross concept. All these components, in matt Moondust Dark, are complemented with zingy anodised red-orange trim details. With a higher ride height than the production SpaceTourer, the SpaceTourer Hyphen sits on 19" matt black diamond aluminium wheels. A soft, fresh green pearlescent finish hints at nature. The colour is complemented by the glossy black finish of the roof, and the use of hexagonal stickers;

- a refreshing interior, offering friendly comfort to passengers of all tribes; passengers are immersed in a relaxed, colourful atmosphere with a strong graphical theme forming transverse paths between the roof, door panels, seats and central console. Each component is given the personal treatment: the lower halves of the seats feature pale green Nappa leather with acid red-orange stitching, while the upper halves are covered with a fabric of varying colour from seat to seat. The dashboard is covered with a special fabric to match the colours and design of the seats. The whole interior is bathed in natural light, thanks to the large sunroof.

- extended mobility, an invitation to travel in absolute comfort. Equipped with the BlueHDi 150 S & S engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the SpaceTourer Hyphen concept offers even more freedom with the inclusion of a 4x4 drivetrain developed by Automobiles Dangel. This connects the car with the world of off-roading, and confirms its ability to reach even the most hard-to-access places.

New product : Citroën E-MEHARI

« ELECTRON LIBRE » : At the Geneva Motor Show, Citroën will present its new model, the E-Méhari, a true "free spirit" in the automotive market.

The Citroën E-Méhari, a vehicle connected to the history of the brand yet with its sights set firmly on the future, is a wink to its older sibling, the legendary 1968 Méhari, but also so much more: a cheery, all-electric 4-seater cabriolet with modern, fun styling. As its partnership with the Bolloré Group enters this new stage, Citroën again delivers on its goal of creating cars which are different and full of fresh optimism.

Switched on, uninhibited and retro, the Citroën E-Méhari is a colourful car, brimming with impertinence, entirely faithful to the Citroën spirit. The E-Méhari is an "It Car" with fresh, expressive styling, and will appeal to anyone looking for something different, optimistic, trend-sensitive and environmentally friendly.

The Citroën E-Méhari is:

- a unique personality: it has a friendly-looking front end panel which picks up Citroën's distinctive styling, as well as a plethora of personalisation options including 4 bodywork colours (Blue, Orange, Yellow and Beige), 2 bonnet colours and 2 seat colours ;

- playful, yet practical: faithful to the fun-seeking spirit of the original Méhari, the Citroën E-Méhari stands out with its 3.81-metre length, removable fabric roof, raised chassis and thermoformed bodywork made from a plastic which is impervious to corrosion and shrugs off minor everyday knocks. What's more, the entire vehicle is washable – both inside and out – requiring nothing more than a quick hose-down ;

- a liberated driving experience thanks to its 100% electric technology. Its LMP® (Lithium Metal Polymer) batteries, produced using the French know-how of the Bolloré group, are safely protected and immune to climatic changes. They deliver a top speed of 110km/h and a range of 200 kilometres in the urban cycle. They can be fully recharged in 8 hours with 16A current, or in 13 hours via 10A household sockets.

Concept Citroën E-MEHARI

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Citroën E-Méhari will be accompanied by a brand-new concept. A fashion item born of a partnership with a renowned French fashion house. The reinterpretation of the E-Méhari which will illuminate the stand will symbolise the marriage of two iconic brands invented by two visionary free spirits... Get a sneak preview at the press conference on the Citroën stand (Hall 6) on 1 March at 9:30am.

Citroën C4 Cactus : new « outdoor » and « urban iconic » offerings

Just like the iconic vehicles of the past, the Citroën C4 Cactus is quickly identified and easily remembered. In a world with seemingly fixed rules, the Citroën C4 Cactus lays the foundations for a new automobile order, with an emphasis on unique design combining practicality and aesthetics. A brand-new fusion which has already won 35 awards, including the prestigious "World Car Design of the Year 2015". A multifaceted crossover with a flair for the personal touch, the Citroën C4 Cactus takes the development of its range a step further with two innovative new offerings. There's something here for all tastes and desires!

1) C4 Cactus Rip Curl

At the Geneva Motor Show, Citroën will introduce its Grip Control system to the C4 Cactus range with the "C4 Cactus Rip Curl" Special Edition, born of a co-operation between Citroën and its partner the legendary worldwide surfing brand Rip Curl.

There was always a natural bond between two brands creating design-led technical products with an emphasis on well-being, freshness and escape. A unique, uninhibited crossover, this special edition of the Citroën C4 Cactus features Grip Control, delivering improved traction, as well as stylistic elements emphasising its 100% outdoor character. For discriminating fans of the C4, Citroën has produced a technical, high-performance version geared towards a relaxed lifestyle, leisure and well-being. This philosophy is a perfect fit for the Rip Curl brand, founded in Australia a short distance from the legendary surfing destination of Cactus Bay.

In short, Citroën C4 Cactus Rip Curl is:

-the Grip Control system, improved traction for off-road escapades, combined with the most powerful engines in the C4 Cactus range and a manual gearbox (PureTech 110 S&S BVM version or BlueHDi 100 BVM version);

-the Grip Control wheel, with 5 different operating modes: STANDARD: for jaunts along sunny seaside roads, twisty mountain passes, major motorways or trendy city centre avenues… SAND: for when you need to get that bit closer to the best surfing locations…OFF-ROAD: for peace of mind while traversing slippery sections…SNOW for access to the prettiest winter sports villages... or ESP OFF, which lets the driver deactivate ESP (effective up to 50 km/h);

The "Urban Iconic" version: at the Geneva Motor Show, the Citroën stand will feature a new personalisable version of its flagship C4 Cactus model. Christened "W", this configuration represents a new monochrome dress with an urban and iconic spirit!

The Citroën C4 Cactus represents a bold stylistic move with its Airbumps®, offering meaningful protection against everyday knocks and giving a pure, fluid visual structure to the side panels and bumpers A useful Citroën innovation available in 4 colours (Black, Grey, Dune and Chocolate), offering a wide range of personalisation options in combination with the various body colours available, such as: Hello Yellow, Deep Purple, Aden Red, Blue Lagoon, Jelly Red.

Always a lover of contrast, the Citroën C4 Cactus unveils itself this time in a new tonal combination sober and relaxed guise dubbed "W", with a white-dominated theme.

In short, Citroën C4 Cactus "W" is:

-the purity of the Airbumps® Dune, which merge discreetly into the Pearl White body and combine with elegance the White rear quarter panel sticker, the White rear view mirrors and the White roof bars;

-the distinction with the alloy 17’’ Cross bi-ton White/Aluminium wheels

-upholstered elegance with a nod to the world of luxury luggage courtesy of the leather straps on the door handles and the fittings and nubs on the dashboard's upper storage compartment;

-powertrains of the most recent vintage and low cubic capacity (PureTech 82 and PureTech110 with Stop & Start petrol engines and BlueHDi 100 diesel engine), which can be combined with a manual or electronically-controlled gearbox.

02. THE RANGE : CONFORTABLE ET EFFICIENT

And of course, also on display on the Citroën stand in Geneva will be the brand's recently refreshed flagship models, featuring: the Citroën C1 with its compact dimensions and enhanced personality, as well as the Citroën C4 Cactus, with its daring appearance and technological content. Citroën will also show off its two freshly updated best sellers: the capacious, playful New Citroën Berlingo and the Citroën C4 New Range, the yardstick of driving comfort and quality.

Comfort as a common denominator

For nearly 100 years, Citroën's expertise in providing comfort has separated it from the rest of the crowd. As the common denominator of the current Citroën range and all future models to follow, comfort has always been a priority for the brand. Citroën's flair in its approach to vehicle design is legendary. The watchwords are consistent overall comfort and well-being for mind and soul, enabling our cars to meet new expectations and provide an entirely new automobile experience.

This Citroën comfort is apparent at all levels. It can be seen in the design, generous interior space, intelligent modularity (as found in the C3 Picasso and the C4 Picasso), numerous clever storage spaces, visibly comfortable seats built using soft, warm materials, generous and friendly lighting, and clear, intuitive digital interfaces with a 7" touchscreen offering a single point of access to all functions (currently available on the C3, C3 Picasso and C5). The on-board ambience also helps to improve the comfort levels of Citroën vehicles through acoustics or lighting variations.

Efficient engines

The Citroën range is also notable for its cutting-edge engines and gearboxes. With its BlueHDi diesel and Pure petrol drivetrains, Citroën has an efficient vehicle for every segment, meeting the needs of every customer in an environmentally friendly way.

- In Petrol: the motorizations 3 cylinders PureTech successful recognized for their enjoyment and low consumptions, especially the 3 cylinders Turbo elected engine of year 2015;

- In Diesel : the BlueHDi technology: as for the FAP, PSA had a blow beforehand. Source of 100 patents, our system of post-treatment " BlueHDi " compound of Selective Catalytic Reduction ( SCR) positioned upstream to the FAP, allows to eliminate until 90 % of nitrogen oxides ( NOx) emitted by engines.

Citroën also offers a new EAT6 gearbox which delivers a pleasurable drive and lower fuel consumption. The EAT6 gearbox, combined with Stop&Start technology, means that the New Citroën C4 PureTech 130 S&S EAT6 returns combined cycle figures of 4.8l/100km for 110g/km of CO2 (depending on country). The same gearbox is also available in Citroën's C4 Picasso, Grand C4 Picasso, C5 and C5 Tourer models.

03. A CALMLY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

1) On board Citroën vehicles

Citroën is adapting to customers' new lifestyles and making their lives easier. It's all about making the driving experience better and better by creating a permanent connection between the driver, the vehicle and the outside world!

Citroën Connect Packs

Launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Citroën Connect Packs, which require the Citroën Connect Box with SOS & Assistance Pack*, are a recent enhancement to the company's range of connected services designed to bring more peace of mind and ease of use in customers' everyday lives.

In short, Citroën Connect Packs are:

- the Monitoring Pack: a virtual maintenance logbook (upcoming services, maintenance work needed) and personalised eco-driving advice to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This service is free;

- the Mapping Pack: offers help finding the car (e.g. locating the vehicle in a car park) and using the car (within specified areas and time periods, and, depending on country, in compliance with the speed limit);

- the Tracking pack: makes the car easier to find if it is stolen.

* As a reminder, the Citroën Connect Box with SOS & Assistance pack consists of:

-A "Localized Emergency Call" function activated by pressing the "SOS" button in the vehicle, or automatically if the vehicle detects it has suffered a serious impact. Once the call has been identified and located by the operator, the emergency services will be dispatched if appropriate.

-A "Localized Assistance Call" function activated by pressing the "Assistance" button in the vehicle in the event of a breakdown. This will send a text message to Citroën containing a pre-diagnosis of the condition of the vehicle and details of its geographical location. An operator can then take the necessary action to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

Citroën Connect Nav

Citroën announces a new, modern, technological exclusive in its SpaceTourer, the van dedicated to leisure and personal transport. Citroën Connect Nav is a new-generation 3D navigation system which lets you control Navigation, Telephone and Media functions with your voice without taking your eyes off the road, and works in conjunction with connected services.

In short, Citroën Connect Nav services are:

-a set of services available via a new 7" capacitive touchscreen for effortless, fingertip precision;

-real-time traffic information, routing you around traffic jams to save you time and give you peace of mind;

-petrol station and car park prices;

- weather forecasts;

-searches for local points of interest;

-Danger Areas (optional);

-free mapping updates for life 4 times per year and the Citroën Connect Nav Pack services for 3 years.

Citroën Connect Nav also comprises the Mirror Screen* function

*Reminder: the Mirror Screen function lets you safely mirror and use applications from your smartphone on the car's 7" touchscreen, thanks to the MirrorLink® (Android) and CarPlay™ (iPhone) technologies, covering a wide range of compatible smartphones:

-MirrorLink® gives you access to applications such as Sygic (navigation), iCoyote (driving hazards and dangers), MiRoamer (web radio) and Audioteka (audiobook reader);

-CarPlay™ offers iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way of making calls, using Plans, listening to music and checking messages with a single word or touch.

2) In the customer relation

In the interests of transparency and peace of mind for customers, and in pursuit of our goal of being the most highly recommended non-specialist carmaker, Citroën is enhancing its digital strategy to address customer needs even better and add further value.

Citroën Advisor

Launched at the end of 2014 and now available in 5 countries, Citroën Advisor www.citroen-advisor.fr is an interactive online advice site offering information about Citroën dealerships. It lets Citroën customers build a trust-based relationship with the company by forming opinions based on comments left by other customers or by sharing their own opinions on the quality of service offered by Citroën dealerships, whether after the purchase of a new car or following a workshop visit.

In short, Citroën Advisor is:

- an opportunity for customers to share their views freely and immediately about their experience at the dealership (showroom and workshop)

- a first for a carmaker in the Web 2.0 era;

- more than 35.000 comments posted by customers already, with 10,000 originating in France;

- an average score of 4.7 stars out of 5;

-a bold strategy which has been recognised with a ‘Palme de la Relation Client’ award (in the 'Relational Intelligence' category) by the AFRC (French Customer Relations Association)

Citroën Carstore

The www.carstore.citroen.fr site where customers can make instant online comparisons of all new cars available in stock in the Citroën network; you can also reserve the model of your choice directly, with a single click, from the comfort of your own home. Citroën is using this new resource to enhance its service offering and drive its e-commerce strategy.

Having selected the car which best meets their needs, internet customers can reserve their Citroën in just a few seconds. Once the model has been identified, it's just a question of clicking on "Reserve this car", confirming whether they wish to part-exchange their current car, then paying a bank security deposit of 250€ to reserve the vehicle. Customers then receive a confirmation email to inform them that the car has been reserved for three days (and as a result withdrawn from sale). They are then contacted as soon as possible by the dealership to arrange an appointment.

In short, Citroën Carstore is:

- a fluid, simple, instant service meeting customer expectations as closely as possible;

- a 24/7 service offering an extensive choice of nearly 15,000 vehicles.

Citroën & You

Citroën continues to pursue its goal of offering its customers a fluid, easy experience, whether online or in the dealership. Citroën & You creates a new long-term relationship between the company and its customers, built on a promise of transparency and listening, through strong commitments, to offer great confidence and peace of mind.

In short, Citroën & You is:

-seeking customer consent before performing additional work (otherwise the work is free);

-returning a clean car to you after its visit to the workshop;

-getting back to customers within 24 working hours in the event of dissatisfaction;

-being available 24/7 in the event of a breakdown, accident or puncture until the seventh anniversary of the purchase of any new or second-hand Citroën (in France only).

3) On the booth

To offer an experience without stress to its customers, Citroën deploys its positioning "Be Different Feel Good" to the architecture of its stand. The Brand, which will welcome the public on a surface of about 1.700m2, reinterprets the values of the well-being and the optimism through several spaces:

- " Le Petit Citroën ": shop of Citroën products and other miniatures of past and present cars ; - " La Maison Citroën ": place dedicated to the configuration and the customization of intended Citroën with in exhibition a wide pallet of internal trimmings, drawing of wheel rims and tints of car body. - “ Le Café André ": zone of welcome for the VIP customers, whose name makes a reference to the founder of the Brand André Citroën; -Spaces of rest: thought with comfortable and colored sitting areas;

Animations are also proposed for all public, with demonstrators as for examples a low wall for connected services "Citroën Connect" and an animation " Grip Control " near C4 Cactus Rip Curl. Driving simulators are planned in the WTCC Zone.

On the occasion of the Geneva Motorshow, C-Elysée WTCC equiped with an engine completely realised by Citroën Racing (1.6 turbo with direct injection, 4 on-line cylinders, 1598cm3, 380 hp in 6000 tr / mn, 400N.m in 4500 tr / mn) with which Citroën gained WTCC 2014 and 2015 World championships is revealed in its new dress. This livery will take the departure of the Championship’s first round on April 4th of this year on the french circuit of Castellet.

Finally and for most great pleasure of the visitors, the novelties Citroën are presented in a synonymic environment of nature, lightness and purity, with the presence of wooden trim/lining, thick carpets and even a real plant wall!
