TUCSON to Enable Coach to Reach More Communities and Discover More Talent

Cape Town, 25 March 2026.  Hyundai Automotive South Africa and Swys de Bruin, Head Coach of the Springbok Women team announced a strategic mobility partnership aimed at supporting the national women’s rugby programme and strengthening talent identification across the country.

The company provided de Bruin with the all-new Hyundai TUCSON, enabling him to fulfil the extensive travel requirements associated with his national coaching responsibilities.

“Coaching the national team extends far beyond the field,” said de Bruin.  “A large part of the job involves being on the road and working with provincial structures.  Having the mobility and reliability of the Hyundai TUCSON allows me to perform those duties more effectively.”

For Hyundai Automotive South Africa, the partnership reflects a broader commitment to supporting individuals and programmes that are shaping South Africa’s future through sport and leadership.

“Swys de Bruin embodies leadership, resilience and the pursuit of excellence, values that strongly align with the Hyundai brand,” said Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.  “This partnership is about supporting and enabling a coach who is investing in the future of the sport.”

The Hyundai TUCSON combines practicality with modern design and technology, making it ideal for extensive travel across South Africa’s diverse landscapes.  For de Bruin, the collaboration represents an important enabler for a sport that continues to grow in participation and visibility.

“The rugby women’s game in South Africa is gaining incredible momentum,” he added.  “Partnerships like this allow us to reach more communities, discover more talent and build a more competitive national team.”
