Company Credits its Unique Talent-Development Culture for Industry-Defying Staff Loyalty

Johannesburg, 09 December 2025 – Hyundai Automotive South Africa honoured 200 employees with Long Service Awards for their contribution to the brand’s sustained growth.

Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa congratulated the employees.  “When employees feel valued and know their growth matters, they stay.  When they stay, customers experience excellent service and trust, qualities that define the Hyundai brand.”

Nearly 10% of Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s entire workforce has been with the company for an extended period.  This is an uncommon achievement in the competitive automotive sector, where sales environments in particular, often experience rapid staff turnovers.

“In an industry where many companies assertively poach top performers, we have chosen a different path.  Our success is built on identifying talent early, developing it from within and giving our employees opportunities to thrive.  This is part of our build-from-within culture.”

Many of Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s success stories come from individuals who began at entry levels roles.  Several Dealer Principals, for example, started as Sales Persons until someone recognized their leadership potential.  “Through mentorship and structured development, these individuals were nurtured into capable leaders who now run thriving dealerships,” added Anderson.

According to Christine Masinga, Human Resources Director at Hyundai Automotive South Africa, the company’s culture of loyalty is such that even employees who leave the organisation often find their way back.  “Many return after experiencing other workplaces, citing Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s supportive environment, growth opportunities,” she stated.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa also stands out in the local automotive industry for its strong representation of women in leadership.  The company proudly counts eight female Dealer Principals among its national network, one of the highest proportions in the South African automotive industry.
