From R469,900, the L6 brings premium design, smart technology and an unusually generous specification to South Africa's mid-size SUV market.
Johannesburg, South Africa, 14 October 2026, What if the most interesting thing about a new SUV wasn't the badge on the bonnet, but everything you get once you look beyond it?
That is the proposition behind the Lepas L6.
Officially launched at the 2026 Festival of Motoring, the L6 is now available in South Africa from R469,900, bringing Lepas' distinctive design language together with a level of standard equipment designed to challenge expectations in the mid-size SUV segment.
And there is plenty to look at.
THE 540-DEGREE DIFFERENCE
Start with the number that gets people talking: 540 degrees.
The L6's HD surround-view camera system gives drivers a comprehensive view around the vehicle, helping make tight parking spaces, narrow entrances and everyday manoeuvring easier to manage.
It is one of several technologies that demonstrate how Lepas is approaching the L6: not by offering technology as an optional extra, but by making useful features part of the everyday experience.
Both L6 derivatives also feature front and rear parking sensors, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Lane Change Assist and Door Opening Warning.
The flagship Pantera adds a comprehensive Level 2 driver-assistance package including Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping, Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Headlight Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
A SCREEN, A SUNROOF AND 50 W OF CHARGING
The technology story continues inside.
Every L6 comes standard with a 13.2-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 50 W wireless smartphone charging pad.
There is also a panoramic sunroof with an integrated sunshade, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric front-seat adjustment, an electric tailgate and keyless entry.
The result is a cabin that feels considerably more expensive than the price tag might suggest.
The Pantera takes the premium experience further with heated and ventilated front seats, power lumbar support, an eight-speaker Sony premium audio system and multi-colour ambient lighting.
BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE
But numbers and equipment only tell half the story.
The L6's strongest differentiator may be what you notice before you know any of its specifications.
Lepas' Leopard Aesthetics design philosophy draws from the fluid movement, strength and elegance of the leopard.
That influence can be seen in the L6's confident proportions, crisp detailing and sculpted surfaces.
It has presence without excess.
It looks athletic without trying too hard.
And importantly, the design gives Lepas something increasingly valuable in a crowded SUV market:
an identity of its own.
ROOM TO ROAM
The L6 is not simply about making an impression in the driveway.
At 4,554 mm long with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, it offers meaningful space for everyday life.
The luggage compartment provides 435 litres with all five seats in place, expanding to 1,255 litres when the rear seats are folded. A further 71-litre compartment beneath the load floor provides additional storage, while roof rails can carry up to 75 kg.
Under the bonnet sits a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108 kW and 225 N.m, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Eco, Normal and Sport modes allow drivers to tailor the L6 to the journey, while claimed combined fuel consumption is 7.2 L/100 km.
TWO L6S. ONE DISTINCTIVE APPROACH.
The L6 is offered in two derivatives.
The L6 Javan, from R469,900, delivers the core L6 experience with its distinctive design, technology-rich cabin and comprehensive safety specification.
The L6 Pantera, from R499,900, adds further premium comfort and advanced driver-assistance technology.
Both are backed by Lepas' ownership proposition, including a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, five-year/75,000 km service plan and 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty.
THE L6 IS MAKING A DIFFERENT KIND OF STATEMENT
The arrival of the L6 marks an important step for Lepas in South Africa.
The L4 introduced the brand locally. The L6 now gives Lepas a larger, more sophisticated presence in one of the country's most competitive vehicle segments.
But the real story is what the L6 represents.
A vehicle doesn't have to be the most expensive, the loudest or the most established to make an impression.
It needs to give people a reason to look twice.
The L6 does that with design.
Then it gives them plenty of reasons to keep looking, with technology, space, comfort and specification.
That is the Lepas approach.
Distinctive on the outside.
Considered on the inside.
And deliberately different from what you might expect.
